By unanimous approval of last night’s consent agenda (which contained a number of administrative items), the Wimberley City Council saw fit to appoint me to to the Planning and Zoning Commission here in Wimberley. I was nominated by Councilman Steve Thurber, and will serve a term concurrent to his term on the City Council. Councilman Thurber, by the way, is up for re-election in May of this year.
I’m proud and happy to be in a position to serve the City I’ve come to know and love over the past few years. I look forward to working with my new colleagues, and will bring to this appointment all the effort, attention, and seriousness it deserves – and I hope to have some fun in the process!

Update: Well, things change in a year… I wanted to do the best job possible in this position, and my job responsibilities in Latin America made this next to impossible, so I have resigned that post for the time being. Smart people continue to volunteer their personal time to my fair village, and I’m happy to have been a part of the structure of the town for the brief time I got to spend.
